18th Century Stringer should go!
Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesperson for Manchester Blackley, Iain Donaldson, has called on the Labour Party to stop vilifying veteran Labour MP Graham Stringer for his views on climate change and Britain's place in Europe, stating "That's my job!"
Mr Stringer, contrary to what his views suggest, is Labour MP for Blackley and Broughton Constituency, which straddles the cities of Manchester and Salford.
In September, 2017 Mr Stringer was one of seven Labour MPs to vote with Prime Minister Theresa May's Conservative Government in favour of the EU Withdrawal Bill which removes powers from Parliament and vests them with Ministers, and in the same month he was appointed to the Commons Science and Technology Committee, meant to ensure government decisions are based on sound scientific evidence, just two years after joining Tory climate science denier Nigel Lawson's organisation the Global Warming Policy Foundation, Britain's leading climate sceptic group which lobbies to prevent pro-climate legislation.
Iain Donaldson added that "I welcome the support that these Labour members are giving to my Liberal Democrat campaign to replace flat-earther Mr Stringer with a modern politician, However they need to understand that many of their councillors are not much better, and that what this city really needs is Liberal Democrat representation."
